How It Works
Lessons are scheduled weekly and billed on a monthly basis. For most students above the age of twelve, 60 minute lessons are recommended. For complete beginners or younger students, 30 minute lessons are suggested. Group lessons and lessons longer than 60 minutes can be accommodated by request.
Rates/Duration
Both 30 minute and 1 hour lessons are available. Longer lessons, and group sessions are also available by special request and are priced conditionally. 15 minute free trial lessons are available for prospective students. Please contact me today for current pricing and availability.
Experienced Instruction
I hold a Bachelors of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory where I studied with renowned guitarists such as Glen Caludia, Candace Mowbray, Ken Hall and Rick Whitehead. After leaving university I continued my instruction with Washington D.C. area legend Anthony Pirog, of The Messthetics. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, providing guitar and music instruction to students of all ages. As a performer, I cofounded and served as principle songwriter and lead guitarist in my band Father's Honor, which released "You're Welcome" in 2015. I have played at many of the Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. area's preeminent venues, such as the D.C. 9, Porch Fest, Epicure Cafe and The Bright Box. While living in Nashville TN, I was featured at Lightning 100's Writers Night and performed as a solo artist at The Crying Wolf.​​
​Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the practical application of musical concepts learned through popular music. I emphasize the understanding of music fundamentals by learning the music you know and love. My method incorporates chords, scales, technique, music theory and literacy in a custom tailored lesson built for each student. This creates an engaging learning experience where students both learn the songs that inspires them and the core musical concepts behind them. The end goal is for students to become not just guitarist, but musicians. I firmly believe everyone has the capacity to learn and perform. Whether you've just beginning or have been playing for years, there's always something new to learn.
Services
In addition to one on one instruction, I offer music theory tutoring, audition prep services, composition and song writing mentoring, performance critique, audio and recording services and basic guitar maintenance. These services can be included as part of ongoing weekly lessons, or scheduled in addition to them. It's my belief that music is holistic, and that in understanding all the elements and aspects of the craft, you truly embody what is means to be a musician.
